World Hijab Day is celebrated on the 1st of February every year to raise awareness of women’s freedom. It’s a day of Islam religion but some other followers also wear hijab but not covered whole body.

What is Hijab Day?

Hijab day is the specific day when Muslim and non-Muslim women wear Hijab to participate in this day and record their sisterhood with Muslim Women. But some other religions like Christianity also wear a Hijab as it is required as a religion.

Importance of Hijab in Islam

Islam is a religion who required to wear a Hijab to every women follower and this is the security of women. It’s not a burden or anything difficult. Wearing a hijab is safe and protects you from evil & dirty eyes. There are a lot of Verses in the QURAN and Ahadees about the Hijab so we should follow them for our current and end life.

History

Nazma Khan, a Bangladeshi American woman conceived the idea to encourage Muslim women who wear Hijab. The first Hijab day was celebrated on February 1st. 2013, and it has since grown and celebrated in over 150+ countries all over the globe. 

Women from different religions participate in this day wear hijabs with Muslim women, and share their photos and videos on social media using the official hashtag #worldhijabday.

Hijab in the QURAN

Allah says (interpretation of the meaning) 

“O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.” (Qur’an, Surah Al-Ahzab verse: 59).

How to Celebrate the Day

Women from all over the globe participate on this day by wearing a Hijab and experience the benefits and hardels Muslim women face while wearing them. Some bad souls do not like the Hijab and they abuse the Hijabian girls just because of Islam. 

We should use the hashtag #worldhijabday and upload some activities while wearing hijab, In this way, we can promote more this day and Hijab.

So after having a deep look at HIjab day, I am confident to say that the Hijab is a protection for women and girls. It has many benefits also spiritually. 

For Islam Believers it’s required for women to wear a Hijab and also a HIjab for men and that is about their Eyes. Men should protect their eyes from seeing evil things, Na-mahram women, and anything that is against Islam.

Hijab Day is also very important for spreading the love, respect, and freedom of girls and women. They can work in any field freely but also wear HIjab for her protection.
