It’s not simply a single reason for genital mutilation, Reasons can include cultural beliefs about femininity, purity, marriageability, social pressure to conform, and historical traditions.

Severe pain and bleeding:
As it is the process of cutting a part of the body, it causes severe pain and bleeding to the victim and sometimes she loses her life.

It is a traditional act and unprofessional people perform this with the female victim, due to unhealthy and uncleaned instruments it causes the infection and may lead to serious problems.
Difficulty urinating and menstruating:
During urination and menstruating victims face many problems including severe pain.

FGM can be caused by anxiety, It can happen due to fear of future childbirth and other marital issues.

This may be due to the fear that FGM women are less clean.
